Privacy policy

Plain English, no surprises — here’s exactly what we do with the details you share with us.

Carsons Flooring (240–242 Chessington Road, Epsom, Surrey, KT19 9XF) respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect through this website, why we collect it, and the choices you have. It applies to enquiries made through our website forms.

What we collect

When you send us an enquiry — whether through our contact form or the floor advisor — we collect only the details you choose to give us:

  • Your name — so we know who we’re talking to.
  • Your email address — so we can reply.
  • Your phone number — so we can call you back if that’s easier.
  • Your message — the details of the job you’d like us to help with.

If you use the floor advisor, we also keep the answers you gave (such as job type, wood type, room and approximate area) alongside your enquiry, purely so we can quote accurately.

How we use it

We use your information for one thing only: to respond to your enquiry and arrange any work you ask us to do. We do not sell, rent or share your details with third parties for marketing, and we won’t add you to mailing lists without asking.

Lawful basis

Under UK GDPR, we rely on your consent when you submit an enquiry form, and on our legitimate interest in responding to genuine requests for our services and running our business. You can withdraw consent at any time (see below).

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry details only for as long as we reasonably need them — typically while we’re in contact about a job and for a short period afterwards in case you get back in touch. Where work goes ahead, we may keep records for as long as required for our legal and tax obligations. Enquiries that don’t lead to work are deleted once they’re no longer needed.

Keeping it safe

Your enquiry is sent securely and we take sensible steps to protect the information we hold. We limit access to those who need it to reply to you.

Your rights

You have the right to ask what information we hold about you, to have it corrected, and to have it deleted. To make any of these requests — or to withdraw your consent — just email us at [email protected] and we’ll sort it out promptly. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
